I-REC AND RENEWABLE CERTIFICATES

Make Renewable Electricity Traceable

Renewable energy attribute certificates help organisations document where renewable electricity was generated and who owns the associated attribute. Hindsecure supports eligible generators and corporate buyers across assessment, registration coordination, issuance documentation, sourcing, transfer and retirement.

WHAT IT REPRESENTS

What an I-REC(E) Certificate Represents

An I-REC(E) records information linked to renewable electricity generation within the applicable I-TRACK electricity product framework. One certificate is associated with one megawatt-hour of eligible electricity generation. The registry records issuance, transfers and redemption so the same attribute is not claimed more than once within the system.

FRAMEWORKS

I-REC(E) and Indian REC Serve Different Frameworks

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Renewable energy certificate

No. The certificate represents an electricity attribute. Physical power delivery and contractual electricity supply are separate questions unless they form part of the same procurement structure.

Programme rules are designed to prevent double issuance and double claiming. Existing subsidies, certificates, contractual rights and registrations must be reviewed before registration.

Do not assume so. The applicable Indian regulation and the obligated entity's requirement must be assessed separately.

Plant location, technology, capacity, commissioning date, ownership, metering arrangement, generation data and any existing certificate or attribute registration.
